Start at the Beechworth Farmers' Market, held on the first Saturday of every month, where spring's warmer weather and fresh seasonal produce make it one of the best times of year to browse local food, flowers and handmade goods.
Art lovers can visit Bronwen Martin: Inspired by Nature – A Gift of Flow at Stable Studios every weekend from 11 September to 11 October, showcasing works inspired by the changing seasons and the rhythms of the natural world.
Music fans can catch acclaimed Australian artists including Lisa Mitchell at Old Stone Hall on 26 September and Meg Washington at Beechworth Town Hall on 8 October.
Fitness fanatics (and beer lovers) can join the Beechworth Beer Run on 3 October, combining trail running, craft beer and stunning High Country scenery.
That same weekend, check out Sunset at the Stables: Twilight Festival on 4 October, an evening celebrating local makers, food, beverages and live entertainment.
The festivities continue at Bridge Road Brewers Oktoberfest on 10 October, bringing Bavarian-inspired food, music and beer to the heart of town.
From 30 October to 1 November, Asylumfest takes over the historic Mayday Hills precinct with books, pop culture, film, gaming, tours and plenty of quirky fun.
Throughout November, the Beechworth Honey Shop presents POLLINATE!, a month-long celebration of bees, flowers and food, before spring concludes on a high note with Metal in the Mountains from 13 to 15 November, a unique heavy music festival set against Beechworth's historic backdrop.
