Walk Description

This 5 kms walk provides views over the Beechworth township, you will see waterfalls and wild flowers in season. The landscape has large granite outcrops, native forest, magnificent rock pools and cascades. Towards the end of the walk you will see the end of the Rocky Mountain Tunnel then on to the Newtown Bridge which was built by Scottish stone masons in 1875. Beside the bridge on the right is a mining race 2.4 meters deep and 410 meters’ long. There is also an information board on the left of the bridge with information about Chevalier’s Mill.
