Was your family from Beechworth and the surrounding district? Are you looking for more stories? The Burke Museum has unique local and family history collections that can help you with your research.

We provide an initial database search and preliminary report free of charge, with additional research charged at $46 per hour. This service includes public records; mining and rate records; directories, electoral rolls, and school and church indexes; and our local and family history book collection.
Many people are fascinated by the history of Beechworth and the region, so we receive a high number of research enquiries. The timeframe for completion of requests is approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
