Friends of the Burke Museum
The Friends of the Burke Museum is a volunteer organisation which support the Burke Museum with community advocacy, fundraising, and assistance with many projects.
In the past ten years alone, the Friends have raised over $75,000 for significant endeavours such as the purchase of Robert O’Hara Burke’s pistol and two clocks by C.F. Falck, and the conservation of the Chinese community banners and the Museum’s taxidermy collection.
The Friends present a regular program of community activities, including book launches, panel discussions and the annual Ian Jones Memorial Lecture.
