The Beechworth Oktoberfest is based around Bridge Road Brewers, Beechworth’s own microbrewery. The Brewery was first opened in June 2005 on Bridge Road in Beechworth, and has relocated to ‘The Old Coach House’ behind Tanswells hotel in the heart of Beechworth.
The brewer is of German heritage, and has attended three Oktoberfest in Munich, his partner Maria from Austria has also worked at the Oktoberfest, and bakes a mean pretzel.
They hope to recreate the atmosphere from Munich, albeit on a smaller scale, here in Beechworth. To do this, crowd participation is must, so they encourage any or your entire group to crack out the lederhosen (gents), and put some plats in your piggy tails (girls), and just have a fun time.
They have arranged a two piece ohm-pa band from Berlin, Germany, for the weekend, and will be serving their beer of course, Maria’s famous German pretzels, German sausages and Sauerkraut and many more German delights.
They look forward too seeing you there – it will be a great day. Tickets must be purchased for this event.
