The 64th edition of Australia's oldest stage race, the Jayco Herald Sun Tour will see an exciting Stage Two Finish in Beechworth on the afternoon of Friday 3rd February.
Three time Tour de France winner, Chris Froome will be defending his title, but will face stiff competition from star Colombian rider, Esteban Chaves and local champ Simon Gerrans amongst others in a very strong field of cyclists.
The stage into Beechworth should be a thrilling one, endorsed by the race director's comments, describing it as "a magnificent stage in which spectators should expect a reduced bunch finish. With the Stanley climb so close to the finish it is not a pure sprinters stage, more a day for the tough sprinters. If they put the hammer down after the climb it could be a quick finish."
We expect to see the field arriving from 2pm. Presentations will follow the race, but the action doesn't end there with the Kissin' Cousins taking centre stage straight after. There will be food stalls, great coffee, stunning local wines and craft beer and of course all the shops, restaurants, cafe's and sights that Beechworth is famous for.
There will be even more cycling action with an exciting community cycling criterium in the main street! There will be kids and adult events. Click here to register for this FREE event. A registration area will be set up on the day and everyone that is racing will need to sign in, and for the kids, a parent or guardian will be required to sign them in.
